Thank you for visiting my site! I hope you’ll find something interesting here. I do my best to interject some much needed humor into the everyday struggles of mental illness. Disclaimer: This site is not meant to make light of the seriousness of mental illness, but more to use humor as a useful coping mechanism.
What is This Place?
Disquiet Deliverance is designed to be a source of support for those struggling with mental illness, yet still have to function as a member of society. While it mostly focuses on anxiety and depression, I hope those that suffer from other types will benefit from the support. As is often the case, people that suffer from mental illness often feel isolated. This is because it’s something that is next to impossible to explain. This site is meant to change that. You might be surprised to learn that that one thing that you feel no one could possibly understand is something that many other people go through as well. If there is ONE THING I want this site to accomplish, it would be to make those who feel completely alone in the world feel that not only do people care, but people understand!
The world of mental illness is a dark and lonely one. But there is also plenty of strength, courage and even beauty surrounding it. Like the sun breaking through a dark cloud, the moments that define us are those tiny little moments where our strength shines through.
Who is That Person Behind the Screen?
My name is Maureen. I’ve been a long-time sufferer of anxiety and depression. As with most illnesses, physical and mental, there are good days and there are very bad days. I started this blog to bring awareness of how wide-spread mental illness is. It’s my hope that it can start to reduce the stigma surrounding it. For more detail, please visit my About section.
